Special NeedsSensory-Friendly Events for Kids with Special Needs

We welcome all children who meet program guidelines to our events. However, we understand that some kids have special needs that make attending certain programs challenging.

Listed below are sensory-friendly movie screenings and encounters with outside performers. Also listed are programs that, while not designed specifically for kids with special needs, may have particular appeal.

Sensory-Friendly Events

  • Family PlayLab: Cardboard Castle Maze
    When: Saturday, December 10, 2016 - 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Join us for a fun and interactive monthly experience that is suitable for the whole family. Come help us build, decorate, and play in a huge cardboard creation. Building ends at 10:45, but the maze will remain in the Youth Program Room until 4:00 for play and exploration. All ages.
  • Family PlayLab: Arctic Adventure
    When: Saturday, January 07, 2017 - 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Join us for a fun and interactive monthly experience that is suitable for the whole family. Explore the creatures of the frozen tundra, play with snow dough, and build a snow house. All ages.
  • Pajama Storytime
    When: Wednesday, February 01, 2017 - 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Come in your PJs and bring your favorite blankie or lovie for bedtime stories, songs, and a craft. Ages 3 and up.
  • Family PlayLab: Rain Forest Expedition
    When: Saturday, February 04, 2017 - 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Join us for a fun and interactive monthly experience that is suitable for the whole family. Traverse the rain forest obstacle course, make binoculars and use them to finds animals hidden in the jungle. All ages.
