tweensThe Wilmette Public Library offers programs for kids in grades 5–8. The Kids’ Library Council meets regularly to do art, technology, and book-related activities and also to plan events and spaces for the Library. We also offer technology programs and occasional special interest activities.

  • Kids' Library Council: Secret Library Tour
    When: Monday, February 13, 2017 - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    What do moving bookshelves, a dumbwaiter, and a tiny toilet have in common? They are all things you'll see on a behind-the-scenes tour of the library. Also, help plan library spaces and programs for kids in grades 5-8. Snacks will be served. Grades 5-8. Sign-up starts January 30 for Wilmette & Kenilworth residents, February 6 for nonresidents.
  • Scratch Open Studio
    When: Monday, February 20, 2017 - 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Make your own games and animations using this digital media design program. We'll get you started, and then you'll have free time to work on your own creations. Grades 4-8. Sign-up starts February 6 for Wilmette & Kenilworth residents, February 13 for nonresidents.
