 Proclamation of Support
for 2010 "One Book, Everybody Reads" Book cover of Olive Kitteridge

The following proclamation was announced at the Wilmette Village Board meeting on February 9, 2010:



WHEREAS, in 2006 the Wilmette Public Library began its annual, “One Book, Everybody Reads” program, with the generous support of the Friends of the Wilmette Public Library; and,
WHEREAS, “One Book, Everybody Reads” is an annual program that unites the Wilmette and Kenilworth communities in a shared reading experience; and,
WHEREAS, the 2010 selection for the One Book, Everybody Reads program is, “Olive Kitteridge,” by Elizabeth Strout, which received the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for fiction; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHRISTOPHER S. CANNING, PRESIDENT OF THE VILLAGE OF WILMETTE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, do hereby Proclaim the Village of Wilmette’s support for the Wilmette Public Library’s 2010 ONE BOOK, EVERYBODY READS Program for the Villages of Wilmette and Kenilworth, Illinois, and urge all residents to support and participate in this year’s Program.
